I'm delighted to see the Linley 'Helix' red leather Daybed and the Ivy Trellis hand-knotted wool & silk rug by Rodarte for The Rug Company, both featured in the latest issue of Image Interiors and Living
Both pieces appear in the Colour Block edit, which takes inspiration from the Dutch De Stijl movement
De Stijl's approach to design was to simplify colour, line and formation by use of pure primary colour alongside horizontal strips of black and white, often referred to as 'Ultimate Simplicity'
This early 20th century Dutch trend influenced many creatives from architect Mies van der Rohe, and artist Piet Mondrian through to fashion icon Yves Saint Laurent in the 1960s
The 'Helix' leather daybed by Linley is an iconic occassional piece of furniture, handcrafted in the softest leather (shown here in red) and rests on solid walnut legs with a polished steel inlay
The Ivy Trellis rug designed by Rodarte sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy for The Rug Company, was inspired by fairytale fantasies, the ivy motif conjuring images of medieval romance
Hand-knotted in silk, the emerald foliage shimmers verdantly against a black wool background, creating a rich textural background
